SMS Consent Collection Process
Last updated: March 2, 2026
This page documents how end-user (patient) consent is collected for SMS communications sent through the NoelX Patient Communication Platform. NoelX sends messages on behalf of medical spa practices to their existing patients who have provided consent during the in-person patient intake process.
Consent Collection Method
Patient consent for SMS communications is collected in-person at the medical spa during the standard patient intake process. When a new or returning patient visits a medical spa that uses the NoelX platform, they complete a patient intake form that includes an SMS consent section. The patient provides their mobile phone number and explicitly agrees to receive text messages from their medical spa.
Below is a representative example of the SMS consent section as it appears on a medical spa patient intake form:

Text Message Communication Authorization
By providing your mobile number, you consent to receive text messages from [Medical Spa Name] regarding appointments, treatment follow-ups, and practice updates. Message frequency varies, up to 8 msgs/month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. I agree to receive text messages from [Medical Spa Name] as described above. I understand I can opt out at any time by replying STOP.
Consent Flow — Step by Step
- 1
Patient Visits Medical Spa
A new or returning patient visits a medical spa that uses the NoelX platform for patient communications.
- 2
Patient Completes Intake Form
During check-in, the patient completes the practice’s standard intake form. The form includes a dedicated SMS consent section where the patient provides their mobile phone number.
- 3
Patient Reviews and Signs Consent
The patient reads the SMS consent disclosure — which identifies the sender (their medical spa), message types (appointments, follow-ups, updates), frequency (up to 8 msgs/month), data rates notice, and opt-out instructions — then checks the consent box and signs the form.
- 4
Medical Spa Uploads Consented Contacts
The medical spa client uploads their consented patient contact list to the NoelX platform. The medical spa warrants that all uploaded contacts have completed the consent process described above.
- 5
Messages Sent to Consented Patients Only
The NoelX platform sends messages only to patients whose contacts were uploaded by the medical spa client. All messages include opt-out instructions (Reply STOP). Patients can opt out at any time.
Opt-Out Process
Patients can opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message. Upon receiving a STOP request, the patient is immediately removed from all future messaging and receives a single confirmation message. Other supported opt-out keywords include: CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, and STOPALL.
Patients may also reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact support@noelx.co for additional support.
Opt-In Keywords
Patients who have previously opted out may re-enroll by texting START to the medical spa's dedicated phone number. Upon re-enrollment, patients receive a confirmation message with program details, frequency, and opt-out instructions.
